Thank you

Why is it, that it's only when times are tough, that you realise how many lovely kind friends you have?

Thank you for all the messages of sympathy, and offers of help and support. There's not much anyone can do or say to make me feel better right now but every single message is appreciated.

Yesterday was horrible, yet it went exactly as I wanted it to, down to the very last detail. Thankfully I had decided a while ago what I wanted to happen, when I had a clear mind to think about it. It meant that I didn't have to make too many decisions yesterday beyond the biggest one. The vet, nurse and pet crematorium staff were all very kind and everything went without a hitch.

I miss her more than I thought possible, but I had 13 wonderful years with her, we had good times and we had great times.

Goodnight sweetheart.

Downhill...

I think the downhill slide may have started.

Pippa has stopped eating. Anything that I do persuade her to eat she brings back up, and she has also been bringing up bile on and off for the last 24 hours.

She's been to the the vet today and had an anti-emetic injection, but if it doesn't work then there are no more options to try.

What next?

Apparantly, white fish, tuna and potato is boring now.

What shall I try her with next?

Guernsey is re-booked for July. Something to look forward to at least I suppose.

Not going

I was supposed to be going to Guernsey this weekend to visit a friend, but I'm not going. I can't be away from home right now.

I'll re-book it for later in the year, but now just isn't the right time to be away.

When the worst happens with Pippa, it has to be my decision, and I have to be here to make it.

Gutted about the trip though.... I was really looking forward to it and could really do with a break right now!

Big mistake...

Well that didn't work. Same as before when I fed Pippa i/d diet, she was sick this morning.

So, it's back to the fish and rice which she did actually eat today, with the added incentive of a little bit of tuna mixed in.

Make your mind up!!

She's changed her mind again. Doesn't want fish and rice anymore, she wants dry i/d diet now, from the vets.

Of course she would... someone must have told her how very expensive it is!! And, she also must have realised that I only bought the rice cooker because I was cooking all that rice every day for her!

Back to the vets tomorrow then to spend some more money..... luckily I've got enough food for today, and for tomorrows breakfast. Just.

A nice day

This was Thursday. A little walk in the grounds at work. Pippa wanted to go down to her usual walk area, but really it was too much and we won't do it again, no matter how much she wants to go. It was lovely though, to take my girl for a little stroll. For ten minutes I could almost forget what is happening and what is still to come....

Typical old dog though... absolutely no recall response what so ever!!!
(You might want to turn the sound down... it was very windy!)

Rice cooker

Since I'm cooking so much rice every day at the moment, I've bought a cheap electric rice cooker. I'm fed up with having to scrub burnt rice off the bottom of the pan every night when I forget to watch the pan....

So tonight we had (almost) perfect rice, with (almost) no burnt bits and no burnt pan to scrub! I think I just need to rinse the rice better before I cook it (I was being lazy today) and add a tad more water, as we eat brown rice in preference to white.

And the winner is.....

CIPPENHAM!!! (BOO, HISS!!)

Cranbourne came second by 8 points, which must be the closest Winter League result in the history of the competition!

Well done guys, you all did really well!

Almost as if...

It's almost as if it never happened....

Pippa's still lame and that won't change now, but in all other respects she is as she was before it all kicked off before Christmas. Cheeky, noisy, demanding, attention seeking and downright naughty!

I wouldn't have it any other way!!

Tarka is fine too, but we're missing Winter League tomorrow (Saturday) as she's not back to agility yet.

GOOD LUCK CRANBOURNE!!!

There is only about one point difference between us and the next top team so it's all down to how everybody does tomorrow. I will have all fingers and toes crossed for a Cranbourne victory!

OK for now...

Still cooking fish and rice.

Still no vomiting.

Still keeping everything crossed that she stays stable for a while longer yet.
